Respect for the horse and comfort for the rider. These two principles have become the backbone of EQUILINE’s saddle division since its launch four years ago in 2013.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Nick Skelton brought the saddle division to the forefront by partnering with EQUILINE on his own saddle in 2015. Since then, EQUILINE has developed several other models for all three Olympic disciplines: show jumping, dressage, and eventing.
The Marghe jumping saddle is the latest EQUILINE saddle to make waves. Hand-made in Italy with all-natural leather and soft Italian full-grain calfskin at the company’s headquarters in Trebaseleghe, the Marghe features a flat French-style light seat that has made it popular in the hunter, jumper, and equitation arenas. Its panels can be made in either heat-sensitive synthetic wool fiber or T-Flex memory foam. It also boasts interchangeable knee blocks and can be customized with Swarovski crystals on the seat or with a national flag on the flap.
International show jumper Vasco Flores, who rides for Georgina Bloomberg’s Gotham Enterprizes, rides his mounts in several different EQUILINE models.
“EQUILINE did not skip any detail with their saddles,” said Flores. “They paid attention to a lot of the important facts that we as riders need: The saddles are well balanced, and they are a mix between a classical and modern model. That’s why it’s been very nice to ride in them.”
The Marghe is equipped with EQUILINE’s Integrated Gel System (IGS), which includes a shock absorber that reduces the biomechanical tensions on horses’ joints and aids rider posture. The tree also features Coreshield Technology, which is exclusive to EQUILINE in the saddle market. When riding in a Marghe, the rider can literally feel the saddle follow the horse’s movement; T-Flex memory foam also allows the flap to mold to the shape of both horse and rider, creating the ultimate experience in comfort and performance.
“EQUILINE saddles are an ideal mix between comfort and efficiency,” Flores said. “I ride a lot of horses and show in big classes. These saddles are elegant to present yet efficient and can hold work, which is, at the end of the day what we do.”
Top young rider Sam Walker, the Reserve Champion of the 2017 USEF Medal Final, also rides in a Marghe saddle. “I love the fit and the feel of the Marghe,” Walker said. “It not only fits the riders very well, but it also fits the horses great. I can take my saddle and put it on any other horse, and it almost always fits perfectly. As the rider, it makes me feel comfortable and secure.”
A dream made of technology and tradition. That is the EQUILINE saddle. Add the Marghe or one of EQUILINE's other 12 models to your repertoire this holiday season.
