EQUILINE has officially crossed the border. EQUILINE America is pleased to introduce EquiNorth as the exclusive Canadian distributor of EQUILINE and Lorenzini products.
EquiNorth makes its debut at the prestigious Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Canada, November 3-12. The Royal, host to the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Toronto, is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the World—a fitting showcase for the EQUILINE brand.
“The response has been excellent,” said EquiNorth sales director Julie McDonell. “Our market is definitely a lot smaller than the U.S. market, but looking to EQUILINE America in Wellington (FL), people are excited about the brand and buying here in Canada. In telling people about what we’re doing and the direction we’re going in, the tack stores here are excited to carry it. We’re looking forward to spreading our reach in Canada organically, and we’re excited to see more Canadians wearing the brand.”
EquiNorth, run by, McDonell, Lesley Buitenhuis, and Scott Walker, father of EQUILINE America rider Sam Walker, will have a retail booth setup all week long at the Royal, offering a selection of EQUILINE tack, horse wear, and, of course, apparel.
“We really think that it’s going to be a successful brand for the type of upper-level competition at the Royal,” McDonell said. “It’s definitely a line that you’re going to see everyone in—from adults to World Cup competitors. It’s for everything and everyone: It’s a lifestyle brand as well as a competition brand.”
Following the conclusion of the Royal, EquiNorth will focus more on distribution, getting EQUILINE products out to wholesalers throughout the country.
“EQUILINE is a premium brand that’s a little bit different from everything else,” McDonell said. “It has a huge following in Europe and in the States, and a lot of Canadians get down to Wellington to buy the products there, but for the client base in Canada, having the brand here will offer them everything they could possibly need. It’s an amazing line, and it’s not just clothing: It’s bridles, saddles, custom wear, custom horse wear, saddle pads, bonnets—everything. It’s an awesome brand to be able to promote to people. It’s one-stop shopping.”
